THREE YEARS OF SOLID GROWTH FOR COPPER DRAGON

Copper Dragon of Skipton is celebrating three years at their new enlarged brewery facility on Snaygill Industrial Estate on Keighley Road by revealing some remarkable statistics that confirm the brewery as one of the fastest growing in the UK.

The new brewhouse started production in September 2008 and, according to Head Brewer Gordon Wilkinson, has led to an 80% increase in brewing Copper Dragon’s acclaimed range of hand crafted cask ales.

“Over the past three years we’ve run 875 brews using 1275 tonnes of malt and 10 tonnes of hops to create 170,000 barrels of beer that have been shipped out right across the globe.

“This equates to around 12 million pints of beer brewed at the rate of eight pints per minute!

“Golden Pippin continues to be our most popular ale,” added Gordon who has seen his brewhouse workforce increase from 9 to 11.

Established in 2002, Skipton-based Copper Dragon supplies its hand crafted Best Bitter, Golden Pippin, Scotts 1816, Challenger, Black Gold and seasonal limited edition cask ales to over 2000 pubs across the UK as well as major supermarkets and foreign markets as far afield as Australia and Russia.
