aletalk announces Britain’s Best Beer 2010

aletalk.co.uk have today announced the winners in their search for Britain’s Best Beer 2010.

aletalk.co.uk’s registered users voted for their favourite beers in two categories: draught and packaged
(bottled or canned). The competition was open to every brewery and every beer brewed in the UK. This
makes it the most comprehensive beer competition the UK has seen with votes being cast for 145 different
beers from 95 breweries.

The winners are:
Britain’s Best Beer 2010 (draught): Thornbridge Jaipur
Runner-up: Timothy Taylor Landlord
Britain’s Best Beer 2010 (packaged): Thornbridge Halcyon
Runner-up: Thornbridge Jaipur

The winners will be presented with a certificate confirming their standing as Britain’s Best Beer 2010.

Steven, founder of aletalk.co.uk stated “It is no surprise that Thornbridge beers are so highly regarded. They
have been producing some outstanding beers for some time now and many would say they have been leading
the craft brewing revolution in the UK. The fact that ‘Landlord’ is runner up shows that there is still a place
in a lot of people’s hearts for more ‘traditional’ beers”.

Notes
Anyone in the UK over the age of 18 could register and vote for their favourite beer(s) of the year.
Every brewery and beer brewed in the UK was included, so unlike other champion beer competitions the
aletalk competition is ‘inclusive’ and encompasses beers of all styles, not just ales.
The aletalk.co.uk Britain’s Best Beer competition will return in 2011.

CHRISTMAS STAR TURN FROM COPPER DRAGON

Skipton-based Copper Dragon brewery is laying on the perfect Xmas treat for beer lovers in the form of a festive brew called the “Three Kings Ale”.

Three Kings is a unique, illuminating red ale which has been expertly crafted by Copper Dragon’s brewers using selected two-row malts from Bavaria to give the drinker an authentic taste of Christmas ‘German Style’. It boasts a complex mixture of orange, grapefruit and pineapple fruity notes balanced with a malty sweetness rounded off with a subtle hop aroma

Copper Dragon MD Steve Taylor commented: “We are celebrating another successful year with a speciality ale that reflects well on the brilliant Bavarian brewing techniques that have come to define Copper Dragon’s hand crafted cask ales.

“It’s a limited run ale that will be available in selected pubs across the region and initial feedback suggests it will perform well as a winter beer,” added Steve.

Established in 2002, Skipton-based Copper Dragon supplies its hand crafted Best Bitter, Golden Pippin, Scots 1816, Challenger IPA, Fred Trueman Ale and Black Gold cask ales to over 2000 pubs across the UK as well as major supermarkets and foreign markets as far afield as Australia and Russia.
